Our commitment to improvement goes beyond the chair.
We have a responsibility to our clients, the communities we serve and to the environment. In everything we do, we want to leave a positive impact and this all starts with our ethical business practices and how we operate within our Salon spaces. With this goal in mind, RedBloom is always looking for ways to improve and to be better for all those we serve. We are proud to be aligned with VISH and now, Style Recycling to aid in our environmental commitment to eliminating the waste that reaches our local landfills and recycling everything from hair, foils, gloves, colour tubes and any single use plastics produced by the services we offer.
Colour waste is one of the major contributors to the waste produced by the salon industry. Because of its chemical compounds, wasted or unused colour from services nearly always ends up in local landfills and even recycling it requires further pollution to the environment due to the process of breaking down its contents.
This is why we use the VISH system.
VISH allows RedBloom to calculate the colour required for each service with pin-point accuracy, allowing our salons to produce virtually zero colour waste while ensuring that you’ll only be charged for the colour used during your appointment and nothing more. Plus, your customized formula is saved within our system which allows us to scale the amount of colour required for your next visit and, to provide consistent results, every single visit.
For nearly all other waste produced by our salons, there’s Style Recycling. While we want to ensure that as much of our waste can be collected and recycled as possible, we are also cognizant of what happens to our recyclable materials once it’s left our salons. Understanding that there are environmental impacts associated with not only the recycling process but also with the transportation of the materials was vital in selecting a recycling partner.
While there are many similar organizations servicing our industry, we partnered with Style Recycling because of their locality to the greater Calgary area (no shipping of recyclable materials across the country or to the US for processing) but rather a focus on carefully planned pickup routes that maximize efficiency and minimize their carbon footprint to ensure that there is as little an environmental impact as possible.
