RedBloom’s Commitment
to Supporting the Communities we Serve
We have a responsibility to our clients as well as to the communities we serve. In everything we do, we want to leave a positive impact and with this goal in mind, RedBloom is always looking for ways to improve and to be better for all those we serve. We are proud to share our core values and alignment with these great organizations who work to make a difference in our local communities.
For 50 years, FearIsNotLove (formerly Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter) has played an important role in the lives of individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and abuse. Every day, our counsellors and staff provide safety, hope, and support through a comprehensive range of programs and services in the community. Last year we supported over 20,000 individuals. With each person we serve, we continue to move toward our vision of a community fee of domestic violence and abuse for everyone.
The Dresscode Project is a global alliance of salons/shops committed to providing positive, gender-affirming services for LGBTQ2S+ clients. The project is led by stylist and salon owner Kristin Rankin [They/Them pronouns] who started the movement after a first-time transgender client tagged her in a tweet saying it was the first time she’d felt like a woman while getting her hair cut.
Every April during Earth month we focus our efforts on W A T E R and fundraise for the Canadian NGO, Water First.
Their work helps address water challenges in Indigenous communities in Canada through education, training and meaningful collaboration. It is just one part of a solution to the water crisis facing many Indigenous communities.
Water First believes that the water crisis in Indigenous communities is unacceptable. Education and skills training are essential in creating solutions that work for communities and Water First has three programs to help: Drinking Water Program, Environmental Water Program and the Indigenous Schools Water Program.
